Insight Manager admistrator user profile and password

I need to change the password to the Insight Manager administrator profile. Can this be done? If so how.

I'm not clear what you mean.
HPSIM uses the password controls for the OS, e.g. AD.
If you mean the Agent Password then you can browse to the System Management Homepage / Settings / Change Password. (https://server:2381)

Remember, you will want to reconfigure the Agents software with the new password so that when the software gets distributed to new systems the new password is also used.

Re: Insight Manager admistrator user profile and password

The passwork we need to change (update) is on the local Insight Manager application. We have about 90 servers with various passwords. Managing these systems is complicated and we want to synchronize the passwords.

Re: Insight Manager admistrator user profile and password

You still want to configure the agents in the Softpaq with the password of choice.
So, the password would get updated as you update the Servers.
Also, you can copy the file c:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl from a server with a known good password to other Servers.

Also, you can use HPSIM, Configure / Replicate Agent Settings, select the Servers to target and a suitable Server with a known password.

Re: Insight Manager admistrator user profile and password

I tried coping c:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl from a server with a known good password to another server with the old password. It did not work.
How do the other two options work?

Re: Insight Manager admistrator user profile and password

Did you restart the agents after the transfer?
As for how
Do you have HPSIM installed?
Do you have the VCRM Installed?

Have you downloaded a complete Softpaq anywhere?

If yes to the last, run Setup.exe and when the screen comes up look at the items in the left hand panel, you can configure those options there. You can use this utility to deploy a complete softpaq to a target Server.
