Insight Manager SQL database size-Large!

Hi- My Insight Manager SQL database file size is 700MB. The transaction log size is 40GB. Is this normal or is there a setting within insight manager to auto purge the database to keep it as low as possible? The transaction log file looks pretty big Thank you in advance for your help.
