Installation account
I have gone through the documentation about this installation and I have several questions but I will ask one at a time.
We have a Windows environment running AD 2003. The installation of SIM 4.2 SP2 will go on a member server of that domain. It specifically stats in the doco that you are to use a local administration account during the installation. This, I have done. However, the database server which will host the DB for SIM in on another server. Whether I choose a typical install or custom, I can not change the username or domain (remember I am a local account for the install so the domain is the name of the local machine) for the settings pointing at my database server. Is there a right way to do this as I have got around it by simply creating an identical 'local' account on the database server and giving that user rights to the database.
Can I or should I use a domain account which has local admin rights (a member of the local admins group) to perform the installation.
Regards,
C

Re: Installation account
The same thing happened me today. I ended up using a domain user a/c which I added to the local admin group on both the SIM server and the SQL server. I haven't had any problems ......YET
