Installing HPSIM and connecting to a remote db?
I am trying to install SIM and use an existing SQL2005 database instance on a remote server. I have created a database on that remote server named HPSIM. However during the install of SIM I can’t specify the HPSIM database. It seems to default to Master and it doesn’t let mechange it. I am stuck at the Database Configuration screen. I choose Use SQL/SQL Express. I fill in the all the info (username, domain etc...) but database choice is greyed out.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Installing HPSIM and connecting to a remote db?
You don't need to pre-create a database. The install creates the database and if you're installing PMP and VMM it installs databases for those as well.

Re: Installing HPSIM and connecting to a remote db?
Rob,
Thanks....I got a little nervous because it was selecting Master and this server is already hosting other production db's. Last thing I need is for it to suffer an outage.
Thanks!
