Integrated management log

I am trying to change the status of the events in the integrated management log so they are not continually flagged as an alert. At the bottom of the log page, it says that I must log in to do this, but even when I log in, I can't change the event status. What do i have set up wrong and where can I change it? I'm new to IM and would appreciate any help.

I believe you would require a read/write or read/create community set up for the SNMP service on the requisite server. This should then allow you to change the log?
