Is there Version Control for BL C-class running ESX agents?
Not sure if I need to configure additional steps or if this is even possible.
I would like to find the best way to deploy ROM updates, etc. to a fleet of ESX servers as they are needed. I am thinking that I would put the server in maintenance mode and then go to the management home page and pull the ROM firmware or push a firmware from HP SIM...just not sure how it would work with ESX.
Thanks

Re: Is there Version Control for BL C-class running ESX agents?
Checking back with anyone...to find out how they update their HP servers running VMWare ESX?
Thank you in advance for any links to tips.

Re: Is there Version Control for BL C-class running ESX agents?
The easiest and best way would be to use HP SIM's custom tools to copy the "Online Firmware Configuration Pack" to the target and execute it. This will require SSH to be setup and a trust relationship established with HP SIM.
Get the firmware for the servers that you have running ESX and place it in a directory on your HP SIM server. You'll need to create a custom tool for each server model. The tool wizard lets you specify source and target destination and then you can specify the command to execute the firmware update.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00809565/c00809565.pdf
It seems a bit thin on examples.
Is this material covered in more depth in the HP SIM course available?
http://www.hp.com/education/courses/hb508s.html
Thanks
