ISEE/OSEM via Remote Software Manager on HPSIM server
have installed the newest version of HPSIM. Part of that install is Remote Software Manager (RSM). HPSIM is running on a windows 2003 server. WHen I send a test incident report via OSEM the report stalls and OSEM reports that "remote delivery down". This the output to RSM_log.log file in "C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\OSEM\logs"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice with the same results.
I think that this warning is pointing to the root of the reports stalling. My guess is that ISEE is not completely installed. I have know Idea what to do next!
OSEM is reporting to HPSIM, the reports show up in "All HP Service Events" but they never move to "open Service Event" etc.
The submit test event under Remote Support Services report a successful test. But none of the servers show up in the list when I discover them.
Any ideas about what to check next? Where does the "Isee-gui-configuration.xml" come from and why is it not installed?
I am just about ready to go back to the regular ISEE and OSEM set up.

The problem looks to me is that you still have pieces of your old configuration installed
"07/18/2007 13:20:30 INFO isV5Client WCCProxy version=141" This line from your OSEM log looks like OSEM is trying to send the event to a service called WCCPROXY which is installed as a component of the ISEE client. Check to see if this service is running. If it is you can remove the service by running "sc del WCCPROXY" The restart OSEM. There will still be a reference to WCCPROXY but the line should look like this WCCProxy=localConnection

Re: ISEE/OSEM via Remote Software Manager on HPSIM server
Thank your for the replies to my question. Here is the skinny on the problems that I was having.
Biggest problem was I was intalling HPSIM using a user name that is a reserved word. I am not absolutly sure of this but installing HPSIM using a different name resolved most of the problems I was having.
The second issue was not being at the console while installing program. We do not have locally attached consoles to our servers and I was unaware that logging in to a windows server via remote desktop did not give you the console ( I am a unix/linux admin so give me a break ). I figured out how to get the console (from the run command %SystemRoot%\system32\mstsc.exe /console) and this resolved most of the remaining issues.
The last remaining issues were resolved by making sure that the commands were ran buy users that were configured in ssh and and added to agent configuration on the CMS. Here are the steps you won't find in the HPSIM installation guide.
The following steps are for installing OpenSSH on the CMS system…
To install OpenSSH, run HPSIMSetup.exe and select openssh for installation
1) Ensure you have Administrative Rights on the CMS System
2) Are you an explicit member of the local administrators group? … If not then run:
C:\>net localgroup administrators DOMAIN\USERNM /add
3) Have you been added to HP-SIM user’s account as an Administrator? … If not do the following to add this account:
Check > HP-SIM UI>Options>Security>User’s and Authorizations>User’s (tab)
Or ADD Administrator From the Command Line:
C:\>mxuser –a Domain\User –p full –C Administrator
C:\>mxuser –a yourusrnm –p full –C Administrator
C:\>mxauth –a -u yourusrnm –R “All Tools” –n *
C:\>mxauth –a –u yourusrnm –R “All Tools” –g *
4) Has your account (administrator) been added to the C:\Program Files\OpenSSH\etc\passwd file?
There should be an entry for this administrative user in this file, if not run the following command:
C:\> sshuser –u Admin –d Domain (if not local Admin) –f “C:\Program Files\OpenSSH\etc\passwd”
After the user has been added to the passwd file, configure the public key authentication:
C:\>mxagentconfig –a –n localhost -o user –u yourusrnm
C:\mxagentconfig –a –n FQHN –o user –u yourusrnm
C:\mxagentconfig –a –n 127.0.0.1 –o user –u yourusrnm
C:\mxagentconfig –a –n hostname –o user –u yourdomain\yourusrnm
NOTE: For some Multiple-System Aware commands (MSA) are ran by the Administrator by-passing the SSH requirement, to view and add Administrator user’s to the bypass feature run the following commands respectviley:
C:\> mxglobalsettings –ld mx_dtf_ssh_bypass_user
C:\>mxglobalsettings –s mx_dtf_ssh_bypass_user=yourusrnm,(if not local only)\SIM (Requires \\ on Linux/Unix servers) (restart SIM)
The last command is bit confusing if you don't have the complete documentation. Which you can find here http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/misc/hpsim-helpfiles/hpsim_5_ssh.pdf
Or you can view the man pages here:
