Linux Hp Insight Agents
For ex. if i do a system shutdown i dont receive any event (just the system unreacheable)
Do i need to put some files in the /usr/local/mibfiles ??

You're looking at an old version of the paper. Find updated documentation from the link http://www.hp.com/go/proliantlinux --> ProLiant + Linux Documentation
In 7.1.1 and later the 'hpasm' package was rewritten to take it out of kernel space and put it in user space. That's why the lsmod doesn't show anything. The newer version of the paper eliminates that instruction.

Im receiveing snmp in the hp sim..if i make a tcpdump on the machine i see the SnmpRequests and SnmpResponses for system information but i also see a NoSuchName when SIM asks for OIDS starting with hp (see the attachment) do i need aditional mibs on the machine ?

The main thing to send a trap to an management station is to add the following line to /etc/snmp/snmpd.conf
trapsink ipaddress communityname.
