Log files for HP SIM 5

Hi:

I'm running HP SIM 5.0 on SuSE Linux and have found that in a directory named /var/opt/mx/logs there is a file called mx.log that is 14GB in size. Can this file be deleted? There are also many files with the extension .out, are these required to exist or can they be safely deleted?
