Maddening! Can't deploy Initial PSP to newly discovered systems

I've been wrestling with SIM4.1 SP1 for about a month and I am stuck at the part where I try to perform the Initial PSP for newly discovered devices. The support pack gets downloaded to the target server "Components successfully retrieved." However, I continue to get the error
"EXCEPTION CLASS: com.hp.mx.dtf.sshClient.MxSshFailedConnectionException
EXCEPTION: Unable to contact the SSH server on node "my.server.name".
I have preconfigured the support packs with the certs, version control location and passwords but It's simply not pushing to the machines. Thank you for any help.
