Mailbox full of "System is unreachable" from shutdown workstations

My SIM discovered my servers and all the workstations on my network, and now i am getting errors logged as critical, but the error below is produced by workstations when they are shut down, and with more than a hundered users my mailbox gets filled every morning. What can I do?

Error:

Event Name: System is unreachable
Event originator: damjana-zaler1
Event Severity: Critical
Event received: 09-Aug-2006, 16:58:38
Event description: The current system is no longer reachable from the central management server, hardware status polling has marked this system as not responding

Thank you!

Re: Mailbox full of "System is unreachable" from shutdown workstations

If all your servers and workstations are on the same subnet then you should really think about separating them off. That way you could configure HPSIM to just look at the Server subnet.

You can change the event handling task to just e-mail when the system type is a server. that way you'll not get notified of the workstation outages.

Where can the option for source of errors be set?
