Is there a way to put a server in a maintenance type mode so that if its going to go down and up frequently I don't have to check my pager 20 times?

Solution
You can modify the custom list that drives the polling and make the down server and exception to the list. When you are done, you will have to go nd edit it again.
This is a request we have heard quite often as late, and a "pause" like functionality to accomplish what you're describing is on the wish list for a future version of HP SIM.
