With a delete/add are you doing the server, MP or both?
What I found is I had to do an ID on both the MP and server. This fixed the MPs that knew which server they were in (under All Mgt Proc's the had 'MPName in server servername'). For the MPs that did not know which server they were in, deleting the MP and doing a manual discover did the trick.
