Memory Leak in mxdomainmgr.exe
Currently running HP Insight Manager 6.3 on Win2003x64 inside a VM (ESXi 4). Was previously running 5.x - issue appears to have started after upgrade.
System starts to use large amounts of memory after reboot. Taskmanager shows mxdomainmgr.exe using upwards of 4 GB in a very short window. Stopping the task only causes it to restart and again rapidly climb to that point, at which poitn the sysm starts complaining about being out of swap space and increasing swap space until the system becomes unmanageable.
I've found two suggested fixes in the forums, which have not resolved the issue.
One:
1. Stop the HP VMM service , .HP Virtual Machine Management Service, from the Service Console (Programs->Administrative tools ->Services)
2. Open the \HP Virtualization Management Software\bin \hpvmm.conf file and add this property definition:
SimQueryDelaySec = 300
3. Start the VMM service service , HP Virtual Machine Management Service from the Service Console (Programs->Administrative tools ->Services)
Two:
The setting i added was the 'JVMMAXHEAP=2048' in the configuration file 'globalsettings.props'. I have enough RAM on my SIM server to able to do this. It seems to have sloved the issue so far.
At this point Insight Manager is useless. The system is so bogged down the system is rapidly non-responsive and does not generate alerts. Insights?
