I compiled and registered a load of Microsoft Mibs which was succesful.
Problem is when I go to SNMP Trap setting and look at the mibs concerned e.g mssql.mib I get the mib name but other fields like Trap name, event type are blank? the bottom 3 feilds are filled in but I can't configure any trap names?
any body give me a clue?

Solution
After much searching on the net I have found some very obscure references to this. The problem seems to be that the Microsoft MIBS don't have any trap defined. They can only be used for browsing. Which makes them useless. Suggest you look at the event to Trap converter from NComTech as per serval other discussions here. Also don't get ditracted by the MicroSoft EVNTWIN.EXE or command version. They look great but if there is no MIB from Microsoft (or anyone else I've found), then all you'll get in HP SIM (need to configure to show unregistered traps) is a bunch of Unregistered Traps !

Re: Mibs Issue
You have to modified the *.cfg file in the mibs\ of system insight manager. Please read the simsnmp.pdf document from HP site. I was able to add the EventType and category for domino. You need to go all the way down on the cfg file where entry like "trap-type". I am not sure about the trap name.
If you can successfully load the miscrosoft mibs, I am trouble loading the wins.mib. Do you have to load in particular order ???
