Monitor and alert on Cisco and other network equipement
How do I get the MIB's and install them for Cisco equipement. And is that all that will need to be done?

Re: Monitor and alert on Cisco and other network equipement
Eric,
Go to Cisco's website and download their MIBS from there for the equipment you would like SNMP information from. Then go to http://h10018.www1.hp.com/wwsolutions/misc/hpsim-helpfiles/simsnmp.pdf and follow the instructions in that white paper for compilation instructions of the new MIBS.

Re: Monitor and alert on Cisco and other network equipement
I have been to Cisco sight to get the MIB's, but there are 50 MIB's for each cisco device. And my HP SIM recognizes the Cisco hardware, but I am assuming that is just from SNMP discovery. I try and send traps from the Cisco device, and the SIM doesn't pick it up. I guess it is because all of the MIB's aren't installed. Thanks for the help and I will work through the numerous MIB's that I need to install.
