Moving to HP SIM 4.2 from CIM 7 & NetWare 6.5SP2
I've been trying to download SP SIM 4.1 or 4.2 for a few months now, link never seems to work. But when I do get it, are my foundation agents on my NetWare 6.5 boxes going to work or do I need different NetWare agents?
I assume HP SIM 4.2 is just a new management platform and will work with old server agents?
Just planning ahead and I don't see SIM agents for NetWare as a download option, I acutaully don't see any mention of NetWare at all except for the CIM foundation agents.
To be perfectly honest, I have less than 50 servers, and have been using the CIM Windows app from about 1999 to manage my servers all this time. I thought the whole Insight Manager X stuff was just a fad that would pass (-: So, running MSDE or SQL on my management server is not familiar territory to me.

Re: Moving to HP SIM 4.2 from CIM 7 & NetWare 6.5SP2
Are you running NetWare 6.5SP2 with the current agents? I had a lot of abend issues when I upgraded my 6.0 servers to 6.5, FYI these servers were 5.0, then 5.1, then 6.0 then 6.5 and I found that there were some very old legacy CIM NLMs that were causing abends, but I had to rem out IM agents on some servers that I could not find offending nlms on.

NW 6.5 is current and the latest support pack is available for it. If you suspect something that's making your systems abend, get it to support and let's escalate it.
