MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

Upgraded to 6.0 and in 3 days i've had to reboot the SIM console server half a dozen times.

Once SIM loads, it's taking 2.25Gb.... within 1 hour that's up to 2.40Gb.... and so on etc etc.

Server is a physical not virt machine, running server 2003.3.2Gb RAM.

Any way to downgrade back to 5.** ?

Either that or need to work out why i have a leak and fix it of course.

Re: MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

If I recall correctly SIM 5.3 took about 1.5GB of ram with mxdomainmgr.

Don't feel bad. I'm running 2008 x64 with 4GB of ram and HP SIM 6.0 mxdomainmgr is using 2.25GB of ram now.

My server is pegged with 7MB free of ram.

I don't know if it is one of these systems that will just suck up as much ram is available to the system or what. If I throw more RAM in the box, will it chew it up as well???

Re: MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

Does anyone know if HP SIM 6.1 fixes this issue or if it is still present?

Anyone want to contact HP to see what they say?

Re: MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

I put on the hotfix for 6.0 and it's had a decent effect. RAM useage still going up but considerably more slowly now. Up from 1.5Gb - 3.05 in about 24 hours....

Was looking for the 6.1 dowload but kept getting re-directed back to 6.0.

Re: MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

This pretty much leaves me no choice other than to go back to 5.3

I installed 5.3 on a test machine and imported a good %age of our machines and it's working perfectly.

Anyone know of a simple way to downgrade back to 5.3 ?

Re: MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

Good luck Steve!

My HPSIM 6.0/6.1 is pretty messed up too and I had no choice but to rebuild it from scratch with mxnode -a and since my 6.1 doesnt give me the possibility to see custom collections with mxcollection I even had to rebuild my collection manually.

I am really really fed up, I admit :(
HP only offers paid support. It seems they dont care at all about general errors as long as you do not pay or you are lucky to use a system younger than 90 days for your HPSIM.

Re: MXdomain manager memory/App leak ?

Other than 6.0 eating all the ram, I haven't had any issues other than having to reinstall the mib pack.
