New HP Systems Insight Manager query
Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is a matrix that shows the difference between Compaq Insight Manager 7 and HP Systems Insight Manager?
We run an Intel shop (running CIM7SP2 only), all servers running Windows 2000 and 2003. Does HP Systems Insight Manager have better alerting than the old CIM7?

Re: New HP Systems Insight Manager query
At this point I'd say they're the alerting functionality is about the same.
I'm not sure which is the easiest or most intuitive to set up.
As you're a pure NT shop, you won't see too many of the benefits as they're to do with beinga ble to manage more OSes, primarily HPUX.
The main matrix is at: http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/index.html

Re: New HP Systems Insight Manager query
Anthony...
Not sure what you mean by "better alerting." Events happen through the agent generating an SNMP trap or optionally a status poll. This functionality has not changed within hpSIM. What has changed is the replacement of the cumbersome "Notification Tasks" system in IM7 with the much-improved "Automatic Event Handling" in hpSIM.
What are you trying to accomplish?
