I'm just about to start to use SIM for 2 of our ML350 servers (to be extended with 6 additional ML350s in a few months) from which one should be the CMS. I would like to have email alerts whenever a critical event arises (e.g. failed disk in array, failed power supply).
Is there a step-by-step setup guide for those who (like me) has never used SIM before? All I want is status monitoring and automatic email alerting, nothing more.
Thanks in advance.

Solution
Check out "Getting started with HP SIM 5.0 in a smaller Windows environment" from http://www.hp.com/go/hpsim --> Information Library. The whole document is valuable, but 'Setting up Action on Events' starting on page 19 is exactly what you want.

Re: newbie question of SIM
Thank you very much. Reading that document thoroughly helped me out.
