Newbie question please help...Automatic Event Handling
I am looking for assistance with configuring HP Systems Insight Manager. I was wondering if I can download a manual from somewhere, as I've inhertied this task. I have created a task to notify me of major alerts but I don't receive them. What I can't seem to figure out: Automatic Event Handling - Manage Tasks seem to runs periodically but when I create a new task, it doesn't run periodically. Any assistance with this would be great, as I have spent a lot of time with this.

Documentation library can be found at:

Event notification is triggered by the generation of an event. The easiest way to set up and test.
Create a Notification Event based on All Major Events.
Go to an NT HP Proliant Server that has the HP Agents installed. First check in the SNMP Settings that the HPSIM Server is listed as a Trap Recipient and then from Control Panel run the HP Management Agent Gui and use the SNMP Trap Send button. This will send a generic trap to HPSIM which should flag a Major Event which should then trigger the notification.
