NNM INTEGRATION WITH SIM ERROR
Hi All,
I am integrating NNM With SIM and all the Steps has completed successfully and when i was integrating SIM with NNM,No Errors occured in any step that means all the steps are completed successfully. But the Problem is that the NNM Console is not open in SIM and infact SIM is not forwarding the event to NNM SERVER.
So Can anybody tell me how to resolve this problem?
Thanks for your Lovely Assistence

Re: NNM INTEGRATION WITH SIM ERROR
hi there,
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/management/HPInsightNNM34.pdf
the NNM integration has two aspects :
A/integrating HP ProLiants servers into NNM so that they are better discovered, identified, also providing links to System management Homepage, ilos, and the HP SIM web UI as well.
-Automatically discovers and displays HP nodes running Insight Management Agents on the NNM management map.
-Populates HP hardware status to all OpenView NNM maps
-Identifies and records HP SNMP events in the NNM Event Log
-Translates and displays HP SNMP events for system hardware and related services in the Event Browser
B/it also provide a small integration of NNM web interface into HP SIM:
A Tool Definition (TDEF) file for HP Systems Insight Manager is provided with the Insight Integration. This
file provides menu definitions that enable the NNM to be launched directly from HP Systems Insight
Manager.
1. Copy the file nnm.xml from the /hpsim directory to the HP Systems Insight Manager\tools directory
on the HP Systems Insight Manager server.
2. Edit the TDEF file nnm.xml, perform a search, and replace the string "localhost" with the name or IP
address of your NNM server.
3. Open a command prompt, and change to the HPSIM\tools directory.
4. Run the mxtool -a -f nnm.xml command to load the new tool definition.
5. Close the browser and log in HP Systems Insight Manager to view the new tool menus. Run the
mxtool -r -f nnm.xml command to remove the tool definition.
Have you performed these Steps ?
If not the links provided with the tdef file are unrelevant...you need to edit the tdef to provide the good links to the NNM server.
C/The integration does not provide any forwarding feature from HP SIM to NNM. The integration is at the agent level...the trap is not going through the HP SIM server before being treated in the NNM alarm browser.
hope it helps
