Pass-Through SMH and VCA Authentication

I have both a (dedicated) test SIM and production SIM server. The test box has about 25 devices reporting to it and the production box has abour 300.

I have upgraded from 4.2 SP2 to v5.0 on the test SIM box and now, the following two things are happening...

1. "SW" status (VCA) is showing a blue "i" indicating a security trust issue.
2. When clicking on the "HW" status icon (green), I am now prompted for credentials when previously, it would pass-through authenticate.

I have verified everything I can think of and am at the end of my rope!

* I can connect to the SMH directly on one of the servers using the same account credentials that were drawing the prompt from SIM.
* When connecting to the SMH directly, the VCA and see the VCRM fine and reports accurate status.
* It is acting like the certificate data changed so I deleted and reimported an exported certificate and it still does not report "SW" status correctly and still prompts for credentials.
* I reexported the certificate from the server and did a file compare to the certificate I have saved on disk and they are identical.

Help, I'm out of ideas!

It definitely sounds like some sort of cert mismatch or change has occurred. Since you are using HPSIM 5.0 you might try using the "Configure or Repair Agent Settings" from within HPSIM and see if it can straighten it out for you. If you do try this option I would suggest only running it against one system to see if it works first. Also, if it does work you may want to verify that it is using the cert you expect and hasn't changed any of your other agent settings that you deem critical. Just a suggestion.

I tried the repair and it failed with an error stating that it was unable to copy the HP Repair Tool to the target and to check for sufficient disk space (?).

I opened a case this morning and it appears from the forum that others are having both of these issues.

In the meantime...

* I reinstalled the SMH on the CMS. No luck.
* I uninstalled the VCRM from the CMS. No luck.
* I reinstalled the VCRM on the CMS. No luck.

I mentioned in another related thread that I reinstalled SIM v5.0 fresh and it worked. After a reboot of the SIM server, all of the certificates stopped working. Neither pass-through authentication nor Software Status are working correctly in SIM.

It appeared on the surface that the certificate broke. On my test SIM server, I generated a new certificate and successfully repaired an agent but the pass-through did not work.

Is anyone else having this issue?
