Password Problems for NEWBIE

Hi all, I'm new to SIM and I'm trying to work my way around things.
I don't seem to be able to log in with the local administrator password. The actual screen says that it's "System Management Homepage for %servername"
It shows the login account as anonymous in the top left and I can select either, Aministrator, User or Operator froma drop down box. When I try to go in as administrator the password is not accepted even though I know it's correct.

Can anyone shed any light on this for me ?

Re: Password Problems for NEWBIE

It's not the Servers local Administrator Password it's the one from the IM Agent.

The IM Agents are configured with various details including password, trust method and certificate.
The docs cover a lot of this, but the easiest way to begin.
Copy the Entire Softpaq down to a suitable directory.
Run Setup.exe to fire up the remote deployment utility.
In the Right hand screen you can expand and then configure the Agents.
The RDU will then let you deploy the entire Softpaq to a Server.
Once done, the C:\compaq\wbemcpqhmmmd.acl file can be copied from the good Server to Servers where the password is lost / forgotten, or you could just continue to deploy the Softpaq.
If you have the Version Control Repository Manager set up, the Agent parameters can be configured from there.

Re: Password Problems for NEWBIE

Hello

From a server for wich you now a password (on wich you can conect), copy file c:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl to server on wich you want to reset password. Then restart HP web agent under services.

If you have Repository Manager, you can pre-configure agent settings wich include password, and then again install on server where you have a logon problem.

Good Luck
Ivan

Re: Password Problems for NEWBIE

Thanks that has got me around the password issue. I'm still puzzled how to trust.
I'm connecting to the CMS server agents and adding the cert. Still won't trust itself.
Thanks
