PMP 'ing my MSA
Hi,
Been trying for a while now to get HP SIM & PMP to monitor a MSA we recently took charge of.
I can see the MSA1500 in the list (All Systems)in HPSIM alongside the server I have set PMP up on. When I go into Online Analysis I cannot see the msa or anywhere to tranfer or apply the license to the msa
I suspect it's because of something to do with the SMI-S as I cannot see the MSA when I run the wbemdisco command (see below).
I have already set up users etc via the UserAccountsManager.bat command so should have all the correct permissions
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo 23/01/2008 10:38:03.04
23/01/2008 10:38:03.04
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo off
WbemDisco 01.00.01
------------------
HOST = dc2prdhim01
PORT = 5989
NAMESP = root
USER = webem
PASSWD = *****
Connect to dc2prdhim01 in namespace root with SSL=true
Enumerating instances of CIM_RegisteredProfile...
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>
I've tried following the SMI-S Trouble shooting guide but it says I don't need any additional software to manage the msa.
The server the MSA SMI-S installed on is a ProLiant DL380 G2 Windows Server 2003 SP2 and Insight Manager is running on a ProLiant DL360 G4 Windows Server 2003 SP1. I'm pretty sure they are all compliant and supported so would appreciate any pointers in what I may be missing or doing wrong

Re: PMP 'ing my MSA
Further to this I thought I'd try without SSL (in cim.properties on the Host SMI-S is installed on) and was successfull.
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>wbemdisco dc2prdhim01 5988 root webe
m W3b3mpass
C:\Program Files\HP\Systems Insight Manager>echo 23/01/2008 12:01:53.82

Re: PMP 'ing my MSA
PMP depends upon SNMP (not SMI-S) to get all status of servers & MSA (if there is any connected to that server).
To get Online Analysis of MSA, you have to license the server (to which, it is connected) & start monitoring. You'll get 'redirect' icon on the left pane of the Online Analysis page of the server, which will navigate you to Online Analysis page of MSA.
Thanks.

Re: PMP 'ing my MSA
Thanks
Had a breakthrough last night. It wasn't until I actually presented a disk to this server (was already zoned up and managing it via HP ACU) that I was able to see the msa disk,get the redirect option and then start monitorning the msa through PMP.
