What defines a VM host ?

We have several GSX, ESX and VMWare servers in our environment. The GSX and ESX are picked up without a problem by SIM, but the VMWare servers are more kind of "randomly" detected.
So I was wondering what is it that SIM looks for when it decides a machine is a virtual host ? Since we have installed all the VMWare servers in a similar way as far as I know, there have been no special modifications to the hosts or their agents, but only some machines that run VMWare server are detected as virtual hosts and I would like to have them all in SIM, not just some of them.
So what is the deciding factor here ?

Hi,

VM Host should be installed with HP Agents. SNMP string as to be set correctly on both CMS and as well as VM Server to get identified as VM host in HPSM.

Yes, we have installed a server, we have installed the HP agents and we have installed VMWare server, and then we repeated this on another server, and only one of them shows up in SIM, so do you mind clarifying what you mean by this ?

Thank you, that could be what I'm looking for but what SNMP string do you refer to ?

The string refers to "SNMP community String" which requries to collect the data from SNMP HP agents, to get identified as VM host. Which as to same on CMS and Vm server.

Oh, that, well SNMP is properly and identically configured on both a working machine and a machine where SIM does not detect VMWare, so that is not it.

Maybe I should add that SIM detects all hardware info, and all software info via SIM, except the only thing that it does not find that VMWare is installed.
