Possible to stop status polling ... system is unreachable events ?

Hi,

We're running SIM 4.1 and would like to stop the 'System is unreachable' alerts ... basically stop polling servers for network connectivity.

We have tried in the past, but everything we have tried also stops monitoring for hardware failures.

Is there any way to turn off server pinging/polling or reconfigure polling frequencies ?
