I've been trying to configure HP SIM for about a week now, with very little success in some areas. I have read a few of the threads that deal with my issues specifically, but haven't had any luck using the solutions presented.
I am running a ProLiant ML370.
The CMS also happens to be the node I am trying to manage, just for the sake of testing.
Here is a brief list of the problems I am encountering, and how I have attempted to resolve them:
1) MP, SW, PF columns show no status
I have my SNMP traps configured as per the instructions on this forum, but am not seeing any results. There are no icons at all coming up under these columns. The hardware column has a green check.
2) Related to number 1... In an attempt to get the MP column to show data, I navigated to the "All Management Processors" list, but found it to be empty. The machine I am on does have the lights out card.
3) Additionally, the "System Type" is coming up as "Unknown", and the "Product Name" and "OS Name" are coming up blank.
All of these items appear, to me at least, to be related to the SNMP traps, and the identification of the node. I've tried everything I've found so far in the documentation and on the first few hundred posts I've navigated through here, but am meeting with no success.
If someone could perhaps point me in the right direction, either with links to specific posts that address my concerns on this forum, or otherwhere, I would be greatly appreciative.
Thank you!

SolutionFor the device identification to work the managed node's SNMP community string must match one of the read community strings configured in the SIM global protocol settings. If you go to the system page for the CMS it will list all the protocols SIM has detected on that node. If SNMP is not listed then you need to correct the problem and do an "Identify Systems" on the node before any meaningful data can be collected.
For the iLO to be discovered it must have an IP address configured. For the association between the iLO and the server to be created the Insight management integration level of data returned must be set to at least "medium"

Re: Problems getting node information...
This address can be found from the HP Agent on the Server. You can then browse to this and change to a fixed address.
If it is on a subnet that does not have DHCP then you'll need to access the ILO via a reboot.
