Problems moving HPSIM41
I'm having problems moving our HPSIM41 install to new hardware. Currently it resides on a Windows 2000 WS and points to a SQL 2000 srvr for the database. I Shutdown the old box and built another with WinXP using the same name IP info but belonging to a different domain so I can easily revert back to the old machine if needed. First thing I noticed when performing the new install is it created a new database on the SQL server (not connecting to the old database). The database server isn't going to change just the hardware that HPSIM is on. I've searched through previous posts and I'm confused because neither my old or new box have ODBC data sources configured. I still modified the database.props file just to see if I could get the new server to point to the old (original) database to no avail. My next step was to use SQL Ent mgr to restore the old database as the new. Now when I bring up the new box I have all of my configured devices but none of my alerts are sent. I've went to boxes and unplugged network cables and forced drive array change and the status changes show up but no emails are sent. Can anyone offer any insight as to what I need to do or what I'm missing? It's probably something simple and right now I'm thinkg if I get the new box pointed to the old database I will be fine.
Thanks in advance for any and all feedback/assistance.
