Proliant PSP install

I have a series of Proliant Servers without Management Agent installed. What Have I to do to install a PSP from HP SIM 5.0? Are there any steps to perform before PSP installation?

Is It necessary to upgrade Firmware and Lights-Out Management with the Diagnostic CD at boot?

On system where a previous version of PSP is already installed, can I proceed initial Proliant Support Pack Install ?

Re: Proliant PSP install

In order to push agents (Proliant support pack) to servers you can use "Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install" task.
See:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5991-2791/ch12s01.html#reqSW
I think you can use it for update agents too.
It is always good idea to keep fimware updated although usually you can install Proliant support pack before firmware update. Server BIOS, SmartArray controller and ILO firmware you can update online.
(and you can use HP SIM for this task)
For update SCSI disks firmware (and some SmartArray controllers) you need to use offline update method - for example firmware maintenance CD.
See "Online ROM Flash Tool Available For Updating Firmware On ProLiant Servers And Options"

Re: Proliant PSP install

Hallo,
before you can use the Initial Deployment task you must install and configure ssh (a task in HP SIM too)!
