We have been running HP System insight manager 4.2 with sp2 for some time without problems. been using a combination of older support packs but have upgraded to 7.91 in recent months- all fine.
Recently we have been upgrading to 8, and also we have been commisioning brand new servers with PSP8.
We have now been having problems with PSP8. Once it has been installed it works fine, we test to see if the management page on the individual server comes up, test alerts, test to see if we can see Version control Agent- all fine. Then a few days later the page will not come up. All the HP SIM services are running.
Sometime the page will come up but we get a restricted view, for example it will say the system model is unknown at top right hand corner, and they will be no info on the overall system staus although the links on the right are fine. Also we are noticing that when we get an email saying foundation Agents: Critical Software Update Required, we don't email from all servers affected. if I then log onto a server that has not sent an email, hey presto this seems to kick the server into gear and we then get an email.
My question is? The proliant support pack 8, is it flawed? buggy?

one of the fixes:
* Fixed issue on httpd lib triggered by user logoff on local system
install this version of smh which should solve. also vca must show this suppose the baseline psp is 8.0.0[a]
regards,
/srh
