Solution
OpenSSH is used on the CMS (central management server) to do application launch tasks on the CMS. For this functionality, OpenSSH need only be present on the CMS. hpSIM uses a key through SSH to validate as an administrator for the purpose of running an application. To have gotten similar functionality, IM7 required the modification of the service to be run as an administrator.
OpenSSH is required on managed nodes if the distributed task functionality is going to be used whereby the CMS can remotely execute command lines and scripts on those nodes.
OpenSSH is NOT required for any monitoring, version control, agent group configuration, etc. In other words, all similar functionality to IM7. OpenSSH provides net new features with hpSIM.
