--Receiving alerts when ABEND occurs on Netware Server

I'm using the Abenddemo.nlm to create abends. When the abend occurs the 'Integrated log' shows the event and the color of the server changes to a failed state but no email is sent. I've imported the NWALART.mib and set any system with any alert to send an email. I'm I missing something? It is critical that we receive these alerts...any help would be greatly appreciated
