Redundant data in reports

Several weeks ago, a user posted a question regarding Redundant data appearing in reports (such as two lines for an array controller when the server only has one). The reason given was that data collected by SNMP and WMI differs slightly, and the solution is to disable WBEM. Makes sense, but how do you get rid of the existing extra data? The user that posted the original question stated that he had re-run the data collection and the redundant data remains.

Re: Redundant data in reports

The only way would be to delete and re-discover the devices.

crap.

oh, well. only 63 servers, and hpsim not in production yet. I imagine I'll have to re-import them from a host file.

Re: Redundant data in reports

ok, I exported the servers to a hosts file and deleted them from SIM. I verified that WBEM and DMI were disabled in the Global Protocol settings. I checked each entry in the hosts file, each machine has the following: DMI=0 HTTP=1 SNMP=1. I added them back into SIM via manual discovery, using that hosts file.

I'm still getting redundant information in the reports.

what else should I try?

Re: Redundant data in reports

I thought the Reports Tables were completely refreshed by the Bi-Weekly Data Collection Task and just contained one set of data.
From David's post I'm obviously mistaken.

Are there any guides as to how the Reports tables are populated and by what.
