Registering CMS with Virtual Center

I have tried to register my SIM Interface with Virtual Center via the Options | Vitualization Management | Security | Register with Virtual Center - I have added the SIM Service Account as a user in Virtual Center and used the same account and http://VCenterhost:8443 but keep getting an error indicating that the credentials are invalid.

Any Ideas what I am doing wrong?

Re: Registering CMS with Virtual Center

Did you run the test of vcenter webservice as described in the manual, local and remote?

http://www.vmware.com/support/vc13/doc/c3verifywebserv17.html

In my case registration worked without the DocRoot addition.

Re: Registering CMS with Virtual Center

This happened for me too when upgrading vcenter to 1.3.1 - running the setup again solved it.

Re: Registering CMS with Virtual Center

Well, thinking about it I got another error, not service unavailable - access denied or authentication error i believe it was.

Re: Registering CMS with Virtual Center

I have solved the problem. My VCenter service account had insufficient permissions. By adding it to the domain admins group I got the problem solved.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Registering CMS with Virtual Center

If you mean the account configured in setup it should be sufficient as member of the local administrators group.

Re: Registering CMS with Virtual Center

It was only a domain user, I made it a member of domain admins first and then worked back from there.

Thanks
