Replacing TopTools on W2K SP3 & 4
I would like to upgrade/replace TopTools. Will I be able to manage servers with HP Systems Insight Mgr that are running W2K SP3 or SP4, or do I have to upgrade the servers to SP4? I eventually intend to upgrade all servers to W2003 Server, but I'm not yet ready. I need a tool badly to be able to look at the older HP Netserver LP1000r and 2000r's. I realize these are now old. Will HP SIM be able to "see" them? PS: I'm totally new to server administration/management. I've got to find a tool that will let me see the RAID arrays so I can document architecture. The last guy left in a hurry. Instant TopTools is installed on equipment in the newer rack, but apparently doesn't work too well on the older stuff. Need help and advice. Thanks.

Re: Replacing TopTools on W2K SP3 & 4
Dane:
TopTools agents and Instant TopTools are your only options for these discontinued models. HP SIM is able to discover these systems. Additionally, check the document at http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=lpn14552&locale=en_US&prodSeriesId=75195&prodTypeId=15351 to find out which NetServer models can support Windows Server 2003. With WS03 Microsoft required certain features (such as ACPI) for systems to be able to support it.
