Sam: Homepage service not starting
I did a little more digging. The installer is not determining the system directory directly; it is parsing it out from the registry value HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ProgramFilesDir. Changing the drive letter there will change the install location.

Re: Sam: Homepage service not starting
Just for further clarification, changing the install location in this way does not mean that the installation will work. Your experience shows that it doesn't. SMH needs to be installed on the system drive.

Re: Sam: Homepage service not starting
Kelly,
Sorry for closing the thread on your fingers.
Your suggestion fixed my problem. I am going to try it again on another imaged DL 380.
I was always under the impression that the OS was dictating the install location.
I had tried to run a command prompt SET command to change the programfiles=c:\program files and that did not work.
I did not see the programfilesdir parameter.
How did you figure this out?

Re: Sam: Homepage service not starting
I poked around in the InstallShield forum until I found out where they were getting the value for their $install variable.
