Scheduled task runs on wrong server
I'm a new Net Admin. finishing up a neglected install of Insight Manager. Things are coming along nicely.
I'm taking the "one server at a time" approach.
I have created a VCR and have my first server trusting it.
I'm deploying a Proliant Support Pack. I choose the server, supply the Windows login credentials. I can see that the trust is there. The support pack is downloaded. I schedule the task for a minute or two ahead (it's version 4.0).
The task runs but fails due to "Authentication Failed". The result information from the task shows that the "Tool ran on" a different server than I specified.
Am I misunderstanding what "Tool ran on" means?
I've checked IP numbers and my DNS looking for an issue there. Nothing.
What would cause this?

Re: Scheduled task runs on wrong server
During the Initial Support Pack installation process the SIM CMS must login to itself using SSH to initiate a batch job that runs the Remote Deployment. The authentication failure error means that OpenSSH is not setup correctly on your CMS.
More information on the operation and troubleshooting of OpenSSH can be found in the latest version of the whitepaper "Secure Shell (SSH) in HP Systems Insight Manager" available at

Re: Scheduled task runs on wrong server
Like I said, I'm figuring this out...getting there... I'm not familiar with what the "CMS" is yet as it relates to Insight Manager.
One of my frustrastions is the version numbers and functions/component names. Things seem to have various names as I move from document to document. Version numbers seem to be a jumble.
One of the servers on my network happens to be named "CMS". I assumed this task was somehow running on this server.

Re: Scheduled task runs on wrong server
The SIM CMS is the Central Management Server ie the system that SIM is running on.
