Serial instead of host name displayed.
Hi,
I've recently applied HP Update Pack 8.15B on one of my servers. Now when I try and launch any pages from the HP SIM Server ie. Homepage/VCAgent etc it comes back with an error saying:
"HP Systems Insight Manager is unable to launch the System Management Home Page at: https://serial:2381/. Could not find a node named "serial" in the HP Systems Insight Manager database."
It is using the servers' serial instead of DNS name. Where can I update this? I have checked the System Properties under Tools/Links and that shows the DNS name.
Cheers,
Hanré

Re: Serial instead of host name displayed.
I've seen this where a server has been discovered via an ILO or via a Blade Chassis but the server itself is not in the Discovery Range.
A re-identification sometimes helps.

Re: Serial instead of host name displayed.
Yea it's a blade server.
Have tried to reidentify it but the same issue is still there, it only shows the serial for some reason. Any other ideas on how to remedy this?
Thanks,
Hanré

Re: Serial instead of host name displayed.
Deleting and manually rediscovering the server has managed to fix the problem!
