Server Availability
I am configuring HP SIM 4.2 and would like any thoughts on how I would be able to do server availability reporting from my managed servers. Is this pushing the capabilities too far ?
Initially I would like to do reporting on hardware availablity. However I would also like to report on application availability.
I am aware that I can alert on processes stopping and starting, so feasibly I can use this to understand if the application is running.
Any suggestions helpfully received.

Re: Server Availability
Check the thread at http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=352871
HP SIM has no concept of applications that are running. To track application availability requires something like HP OpenView Operations.
