Server Model not displayed

I have a couple of servers with the following problem with the Insight Managment Agents but I will describe one for the moment as I expect the solution to this would be applicable to the others as well.

The server is a DL380 G3 running Insight Agents V7 on a windows 2000 server.
The model number of the server does not seem to be shown at the top right corner of the managment home page nor passed back to insight manager. The serial number is also not shown.
If I use the Windows WMI services to browse the DMI data I can pick up the model number in there and also the serial number etc...

I have attempted the following to resolve the problem.
Uninstall all the agents and reboot the server
Re-install the agents and reboot again.

The agents all appear to be installed OK but just don't seem to pick up the correct value to apply to this field.

Anybody got a suggestion on how to correct this?

Re: Server Model not displayed

The agents rely on the health driver to populate this data. You should be using the ProLiant Support Pack instead of just the agents. All of the dependencies are taken care of that way and things like this don't happen.

Re: Server Model not displayed

Oh forgot to mention.
When I installed the agents I ran bp000171.cmd that was downloaded as part of the support pack.
Good suggestion though, I should check the log file for anything that didn't install properly...

I'll be right back.

Re: Server Model not displayed

I seem to have resolved this.
I was having a problem with the Version Control agent at the same time which was complaining of insufficient storage.
The fix for this was to allow snmp connections from localhost as well as our managment consoles. This also seemed to correct the problem with the server model number missing from the management homepage.
See this thread for more details.
