Servers with multiple IP addresses and hostnames
We have some servers with two or even three network interfaces. Some of these servers have made two or three appearances in our SIM database. Is there any way to merge these duplicates together into one record? It looks like they are separate servers in SIM.
I'm curious if any of you have dealt with this situation.

Re: Servers with multiple IP addresses and hostnames
To a degree it depends on what you want to monitor or collect data on.
I tend to add the all but one of the IP Addresses to the exclusion list in Discovery and just monitor the one server. This is because I'm mainly interested in the physical server and there's only one of them.

Re: Servers with multiple IP addresses and hostnames
Thanks, Rob. I will probably end up doing what you have done.
How can we submit a feature request to the HP SIM development team? I would like to see multiple ip addresses or interfaces available for each server. Or at least a "notes" field where we can put this information in the database.
