Re: Sign-in failure

Is it running in Domain environment or workgroup? If you have problems with passwords, check this link out

Re: Sign-in failure

As mentioned in the description it deals with SIM password issues. Helps you to modify your SIM password sp you could access the console.

In Administrative tools->Services->HP SIM under its logon tab what is SIm logging on as?

Re: Sign-in failure

Hi Stuart, As mentioned in my post above, it changes the password with which you can access SIM. If you have not created any special users for SIM then it uses Administrator user name as default.
Have you tried any of the tool's commands from that page?

Have you tried also restarting the HP SIM service? Does it restart?
Also try changing HP SIM logon to Domain Administrator account in services and see if that helps.

Re: Sign-in failure

i have setup other user accounts, but still have the administrator account, if i use mxpassword -g and choose the modify option in the dropdown it gives me to password keys that i can select mxsshkeypassword and mxdbuserpassword, is this everyhting i should have and if so which one do i modify to change the administrator password?

tried using a domain admin for the service but it is still now working.

Re: Sign-in failure

Think SIM cannot access database, try this out from cmd, it removes your database password and lets you assign a new one.

mxpassword -r -x MxDBUserPassword
mxpassword -a -x MxDBUserPassword=

Re: Sign-in failure

once i assign a new password how would sim know to use the new password? do i have to set it somewhere else aswell?

Re: Sign-in failure

It uses the password to access database. I would use the same password as local admin.

Re: Sign-in failure

Do you get the SIM login screen but any login you specify produces a sign-in failure message?

Re: Sign-in failure

Yes that is exactly what i saw but seem to have resolved the issue not use what fixed it but it was either recreating the password as suggested or re-installing psp 7.50, thx for your help
