This kit installs hotfixes to HP Systems Insight Manager 5.3.

SIM improvements and bug fixes included in the hotfix update kit:
- HOTFIX53_001 - Fix for SIM 5.3 identification causing iLO2 v1.60 crashes. This
was not a problem with iLO2 firmware before 1.60 or with 1.70 or later.


HOW TO USE:

1. Ensure that you are logged in to Windows with a user account that
is a member of the "Administrators" group and that the user
account also has Systems Insight Manager administrative privileges.

2. Download the kit to a directory on your hard drive (other than
the root of the drive) and change to that directory. The file
that is downloaded is a self-extracting executable with the name
SIM53_hotfix_2009Feb_win.exe.

3. From that drive and directory, execute the downloaded file
and follow the on-screen instructions to unpack the files and
install the kit. Note that it will stop and restart
the Systems Insight Manager service and other services that use Systems
Insight Manager during this process. The entire update should take
less than 10 minutes.

4. After a successful installation, you may delete the self-extracting
file and the files unpacked in step 3 if you wish.

Sadly, I can confirm that the hotfix has not resolved the issue in my environment. I applied the hotfix this morning and then ran an Identify task against all my ILO2's. I had 3 more ILO2's go offline, 2 running v1.6 and 1 running v1.61.

I guess I'll turn all my Device Identification tasks off again until I can get all the ILO2's updated v1.70. That's going to take a while though, I think I have about 400 or so left to update...

Scott, can you do me a favor and confirm that the hotfix got applied successfully by doing Help --> About and making sure that "HOTFIX53_001.jar" shows in the patch list?

If it's any consolation I have really bad luck, so maybe it will work for everyone else. I'm actually upgrading the last of my ILO2's right now - turns out I only had 150 or so left that were running 1.6 and 1.61. The other 300 are running pre 1.6 FW.
