SIM 5.3 - Serial numbers show instead of hostnames when adding enclosure
I've installed the Linux version of HP SIM 5.3; However, when I add enclosures to this version I get the serial numbers of the servers rather than the hostnames.
iirc, in previous versions hostnames showed up.
Because of this, in order to configure the agents, I need to discover the server directly rather than via the enclosure.
Any thoughts?

In discovery, there is are 2 options that you must have enabled:
* Automatically discover a server blade when its Integrated Lights Out management processor is identified
* Discover systems in an enclosure when Onboard Administrator is discovered
When this is enabled, discovery will create a placeholder for the system with the name of the server being the serial number and the status set to suspended. You have to discover the server itself with an IP address in order for it to be a fully manageable target.

Thanks for the info.
Has this changed? I remember in either 5.1 or 5.2 when I added an enclosure it also discovered the blades in the chassis by hostname.

No, this is the way it always has been.
