SIM 6 - Monitoring multiple servers behind firewall across the web.
I work for an outsourced IT support company.
We have a need to monitor a number of client servers at remote sites across the internet.
I seem to be having a great deal of difficulty in finding a way of monitoring multiple servers behind a single firewalled IP address.
The servers in question do not have their own public IP addresses.
Has anyone been able to successfully monitor numerous servers behind firewalls across the internet, and if so can you offer any advice?
All documentation appears to be geared up to monitoring servers in a DMZ environment from an internal network.
I essentially need the opposite - monitoring from the internet, but only have a single IP to work with. Obviously I can only forward SNMP port to one host, so discovery will not work for other servers behind the same firewall. Is WMI proxy mapper sopposed to get round this issue?
Any help greatly appreciated...
