SIM 7.0 Manual DIscovery Issues

I am having an issue with SIM7. When I manually add a server outside of the office IP range, it will not be added. I have tried this with IP and DNS name and It will still not add it. From the box I can ping the server by DNS or IP address so I know that it can communicate with the server. The SNMP strings for RO & RW are correct, so I am at a loss here.

Additiona info: Even placing the ip range of a different office in Automatic Discovery does not work.

[Note: this is the HP *SYSTEMS* Insight Manager forum; questions on Insight Manager 7 should be posted here: http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/categoryhome.do?categoryId=266]

Does the IM7 server's NIC have a netmask that would allow it communicate with that subnet?

Yes, it does have the correct NETMASK. What is odd is that I can ping every server I want to add but SIM will not add any server outside of this office. Our CIM 5.5 works just perfect.

Re: SIM 7.0 Manual DIscovery Issues

Just to get this straight, you're trying to add a Server(s) that are outside the range you've initiall added into SIM?

You can add as many different addresses and address ranges into the Auto-Discovery boxes, run Discovery and it should find them.

If they're not showing up, disabled the discovery filters, they may not be being recognised.
