SIM can monitor itself
I just installed 4.2 and getting things setup and configured (currently monitoring 167 servers), but the SIM doesn’t seem to be ably to monitor itself. It just has it's own name with the dead icon. The systems page says “(X) from ping” with no other information. I also can’t access the Management Agent except from the local console. From there, all look ok. The SMNP and DNS setup is the same as all the other servers. I tried to delete the server in SIM (so I could rediscover) but it says it can’t because it’s required. Any Id

Re: SIM can monitor itself
Did you establish a trust with itself? I know this needs to be done... but I would think the HardWare would still show up as a green check.

Re: SIM can monitor itself
Hello
Check SNMP propertis, Comunity name, trap destinaion and under Security Tab check if you have selected options Accept SNMP traps from those hosts. For cenral management server is beter to select Accept SNMP host from any hosts.
