SIM emails stopped working
My problem is, I dont really know where to troubleshoot further. Is there a way to send a test email from the server like the win32 version used to have?
Also, I upgraded to 4.2 and no help. I still cant even access the main page while at the SIM server...it just hangs at the "login" page. I have to use a remote PC to administer SIM.
Thanks.

Re: SIM emails stopped working
You should then be able to use the Task Results Page to identify what processes have been triggered.
The obvious question though, is what has changed.
You can also check that you can reach your SMTP Server, just telnet on Port 25 from the HPSIM Server to your SMTP Server. You should at least be able to do a "HELO" (yep one L).
As for hanging on Login. Try Browsing to HPSIM from the HPSIM Server rather than using the Icon. What happens?
Check the version of Java installed. Check in IE Advanced Settings if you have a section
Java (Sun) use Java 2 v1. checked and whether this corresponds to the JRE HPSIM needs. You can uncheck this box, that lets the Application choose the JRE it needs, useful if you need multiple JRE's.

Re: SIM emails stopped working
The telnet revealed the server was not communicating on port 25. That led me to discover that McAfee 8i has port blocking rules. We have had 8i installed for awhile but the rules are managed from a McAfee management server. Another admin did an update on that server which turned the port blocking on.
It also was the Java that was the problem. I installed 1.5.1 and now it logs in. I have one other question but I am going to post it to a seperate thread...thanks for your help.

Re: SIM emails stopped working
After installing yesterday, I was working in HPSIM and some things are a bit strange...for example not all the options in the drop down lists show up when creating a new task.
I will try the version you suggest. Thanks!
