SIM Event Notifier Service Not Starting
I am running SIM 4.1 and begun to use the alerts. But the problem is when I start the Event Notifier service I get a error saying terminsting service error code 1. And the service does not start.
I have seen things about CIM 7 saying to downgrade my agents to 6.3 but I am on 7.1 this would be a big downgrade. Has anyone else seen this.
I am running SIM on a HP proliatn DL 360 G1, on windows 2003

Re: SIM Event Notifier Service Not Starting
The Insight Agent Event Notifier Service probably doesn't apply to your installation. It is an AGENT component and not a component of HP SIM. Its function is to send an email when an event happens at the agent. This is sort of an alternative to an SNMP trap. It was designed specifically for small businesses who did not want to implement a full HP SIM environment for a handful of servers but did have a mail server available.
It requires configuration of the location of the mail server address. That's probably why it's not running. Look on the start menu for 'Event Notifier Config' under "HP Management Agents."
